Hi I'm Cody Boehning

I grew up in Georgia and moved to Washington State when I was 14. I am LDS.

About Me

My name is Cody, I am about to serve a mission. I grew up in an LDS family, but I never really converted myself to the gospel. I was the only member of the church in my school so times were difficult. I didn't share the gospel or talk to my friends about the church or the standards that I have. When I was 14, a week before I turned 15, that is when my life changed. My family moved across the country from Georgia to Washington. We were around a lot more LDS people. That's when I started feeling comfortable. I felt like I could be myself. I made friends who kept my standards and shared my beliefs. I got more into the gospel and years passed by that's when I converted myself and wasn't afraid to stand up and share what I believed. I love to draw and skateboard. I love helping others and showing them that I love and care for them. I'm nice, friendly, and outgoing and love to make things fun.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger, I was never really into the gospel. I attended church and activities because my parents pretty much made me. I was the only LDS kid in my school so I didn't get involved with sharing my religion with others. I was afraid I would get made fun of and get rejected. When I was 15 my family moved across the country. That is when my life changed. I was around LDS people who would always try to help me do my best. Months after I moved I saw how happy my friends were. I learned that there are two different types of happiness. There is eternal happiness, the ones my LDS friends were feeling. This happiness is something you can have forever by doing what's right and having the gospel, the light, in your life. The other happiness is temporal happiness. That's the happiness that I had all my life without getting involved in the gospel. I realized that the my friends who are LDS had the happiness that I wanted. They were glowing every time I looked at them, they had something that I was missing. That is when I decided to study and learn the gospel of Jesus Christ. I started reading the Book of Mormon and feasting upon it. I started going to church for myself and not because of my parents made me. As I continued doing this, I was seeing the change in my life. I was getting what I wanted. I could see myself glow and was filled with happiness when I accepted the gospel into my life. My decision to become converted in the gospel has blessed me so much. I'm very thankful that I have it in my life, I believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. We have prophets here on earth to help us and guide us to let us have the opportunity to always stay on the right path and have that light that would make us glow. Heavenly Father loves each one of us. He is always on our side, as we seek out and get direction, we will always know where we are heading. I'm glad I'm a Mormon, and with the gospel in my life, I can receive eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being Christ like to a lot of my friends. I'm a ward missionary so I have the opportunity to go out with the missionaries and be a great example to everyone around me. I always try to do my best, and be a better person. I always share my thoughts and feelings when I'm out with friends, or when I'm in homes teaching. I always keep my standards and tell my friends why I keep them. They respect my decisions and they support me.
