Hi I'm Matthew Mickelson

Im from Washington State, Love my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Washington State. I love all sports, but more importantly being outside and trying new things. I am currently a missionary in North Carolina and was originally called to serve in Piracicaba, Brazil. Really big on families and spending time with them, no matter what we are doing!

Why I am a Mormon

I had life all figured out at 17 years old. I was going to go place Golf at a college in Hawaii. That had always been my dream and it was coming true. But that changed in the matter of minutes. I was in a car wreck where I almost lost my life. Lost my chances to play college golf in Hawaii. Heavenly Father saved my life, by putting people in my path periodically throughout my car wreck that saved my life. Quickly I fell into depression, not being able to do the things I once loved, spending countless hours in Physical Therapy just trying to get back to where I was physically before my accident. I couldn't do it alone. My brother challenged me to read the Book of Mormon, and I did. I was willing to do anything at that point. I was overcome with the Spirit of the Lord, and my life was turned upside down. I have always believed, but when we truly believe it is reflected in all we do, what we say, think, act, everything about us. I continue to strive to be the best person I can be every day! Its a challenge but its worth it, and I love it!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example at all times, and in all places. When we are true believers in Christ it is reflected in our thoughts and actions. I strive to love all, serve all, and help all just as Jesus would. I also live my faith by following the commandments of God, going to Church, reading from the scriptures, and spreading the Gospel!

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Matthew Mickelson
Paying Tithing is a privilege that we should all look forward to. Heavenly Father has given us everything. Literally Everything, and all he asks is that we give 1/10th back. It is a privilege because we get to play a part in the building up of the Kingdom of God. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Matthew Mickelson
We must act in order to develop our faith. If we sit idly by our faith wont increase. We must pray, we must read the scriptures, we must listen to the words of the prophets of old, and of new. (Ether 12:6). As we do these things God will witness unto us the truth of all things. Show more Show less
