Hi I'm Kimberlee

I grew up in Lubbock, TX and went to boarding schools when I was 12 years old. Where I found the Church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up always loving horses, I mean I am from Texas and have a real southern background. I have a dad and three half brothers who I love very much. I love to travel and to see the world. A couple of summers ago I got to go on a cruise in Europe where we went to Italy, Spain, and France. I have also been to Alaska, Canada, Mexico and Hawaii. I am currently on a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I grow up in a broken home where I have to trying and be perfect for a ex-stepmom. Nothing I did was ever good enough in her eyes and because of that I was constantly getting punished for the things I did or didn't do as my dad stood by her side because he believed that parents are to be united in all things. I was twelve years old when I went to my first boarding school. I always wondered if this is what it meant to be in a family, if so I didn't want any part of it. I was 14 when I first learned about the church; I was interested because of the families I saw at church were happy and I wanted that. It wasn't until I moved in with a foster family who was LDS that I really started to get involved in the church. I had a friend of mine when I was sixteen challenge me to read the Book of Mormon. I did so and meet with the missionaries soon after. I was baptized December 2010. I stay with the church because I feel the peace and the joy that comes with being a member. I am the only member of my biological family but I have a great church family who love, care and support me in all I do. I am proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a missionary in The Ohio Cleveland Mission and it is amazing. I have about 3 months left and I have served for 15 months already. I love being able to share the gospel and help others to come unto Christ. I love being able to help others change their life and being able to watch the Lord work and change them. I also have loved that we get to help teach the youth about missions and being able to share what it is really like. I have meet so many people and have been able to see the miracles that come as people learn about the church.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe the "Bible‍ to be the word‍ of God as far as it is translated correctly"(Articles of Faith 1:8)and it is so important to everything that we teach. Without the Bible we would not be able to understand the Book of Mormon as well as we do and without the Book of Mormon we could not understand the Bible very well either. They go hand and hand, and you have to use them both to be able to see the full picture. I know that for me I have read and studied the Bible to be able to make since of the Book of Mormon and it has helped me to understand who Christ is and what it truly means to be Christ-like. I love the Bible because it has helped me get though some of the hardest times in my life. I know that the Bible is so important and it helps my faith to grow as I study and read from the stories contained in it. Show more Show less
