Hi I'm Deanna

I'm from Texas. I love playing sports and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest of 10 children and I love it. I have 17 nieces and nephews that I adore. I played Volleyball, Basketball, and did Track &Field in high school. I am currently a college student majoring in Communication Disorders. I hope to become a Speech Pathologist one day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church. Most of my life I attended church because that's just what we did. Sunday you went to church, there was no question about it. It was until recent years that I really started contemplating what the church meant to me, what my life would be like without it, or if I even agreed with all the principles taught. I started praying more sincerely and really pondering the scriptures that I read. Since then, the overwhelming feeling of the spirit in my life has been a testament to me that this is the true church, that this is God's church on the Earth today, and that He leads and guides it. I can't even begin to express the gratitude I have for the knowledge of where we come from, why we're here, and life after death. It gives me purpose and comfort to know that there is a plan for me created by the most powerful, perfect, heavenly being. I know God lives and that He loves me. I am His daughter and I will spend the rest of my life trying to live up to that truth.

How I live my faith

My church calling is a teacher. I give lessons to the women of the ward. I was so nervous when I was first called, but I've now grown to appreciate the greater opportunity to learn as I prepare to teach. I am also a visiting teacher to two wonderful young women.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No we do not worship Joseph Smith. While we are very grateful to the prophet, Joseph Smith, for his role in helping to restore the Church of Jesus Christ, we only worship God and his son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
