Hi I'm Cody

I grew up in the East Bay of California. I love people and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to think. I think a lot about people, and I probably think too much about music. I compose hip hop/orchestral/electronic instrumentals. After prayer, the scriptures, and the words of the living prophets, nothing else can pierce my soul more deeply than music can. After I serve the Lord for two years on a mission in Fort Worth,Texas, I plan on getting involved in the music industry, where I'll perform the music I create, as well as write and produce lyrics and instrumentals for myself and other performing artists. Growing up in a really diverse community, I've come to see and understand a lot about the fact that every person is a child of God. Because of the things God blessed me to be able to see and realize in the area I was in, I've grown to have strong convictions about race and equality. I believe that the color of a person's skin does not EVER, without exception, dictate the kind of human being they are or will become, or the content of their character. A person should not have preconceived ideas about any person based on their race, and not a single person deserves to be judged and declared to act a certain way based on a standard stereotype that society has assigned to their specific shade of skin. I believe that every person is equal, in every sense of the word, and that the influences of the people around them bluntly convince them that the color of their skin is a valid excuse, or sometimes even an obligation to act or be a certain way.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Savior. And because I love him, I have a strong desire to follow him. Jesus Christ personally established The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This church is literally His kingdom here on Earth, and he actively directs the affairs of his kingdom by his word today. If I'm a person who loves him and has a desire to follow him, of course I would want to be a member of his church! The gospel of Jesus Christ has shaped the human being that I am for the better, and I will be grateful for the rest of eternity for the fact that he was willing to volunteer his life to suffer pain beyond comprehension for me, and die, so that I could have the chance to live forever. I am a Mormon because I know that this church is the true kingdom of God on the Earth. I love to live for the Lord, and I thank him by being faithful in his gospel.

How I live my faith

Every day I pray to my Heavenly Father. I love my God so much, and after looking at everything that He has done for me, I try to go through my life in such a way that I can show Him how grateful I am for all he's given me. I love to have fun, and be happy! And show Him that I enjoy the life He's given to me. There are a lot of times when life gets difficult, and it gets hard to be happy, but when those times come I turn to Him for comfort. I ask him for strength and guidance through my trials, and I thank Him for the many blessings He gives me. I take my faith in God very seriously, and I'll always try my best to live the way He wants me to.
