Hi I'm Cynthia

I am one of 8. I was homeschooled till I went to college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My mom homeschooled me and my other siblings. During my high school years I worked at a working farm teaching kindergarten kids how to plant pumpkins. After I graduated I started attending a community college for an education major. Because of my experience teaching I found I loved teaching young kids and wanted to pursue that. After a year and half of college President Monson made the announcement of the age change for missionaries. Since I was young I wanted to serve a mission so I started thinking about that possibility and putting my education on hold. When I got my answer I started my papers and turned them in. during the time that I worked on my papers and the waiting to leave for my mission. I moved out of my parents and started living with my brother and his wife till I found an apartment. It was a different experience for me to live on my own away from my parents and paying rent and buying my own food. It was hard at first but the roommates that I had made it easier because they had the same standards as I do and became examples of women that I want to become.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but like the rest of members I also have a conversion story. In my story there was never any doubt during my teenage years or college years. I grew up with my family going to church every Sunday it was just what you did. I loved going to church because I always knew I had a friend there. My Savior Jesus Christ was my friend and he was always there at church I could never see him but I felt him and it always comforted me. I had friends who faked being sick so they could get out of going to church I was the kid that when I was sick would fake that I was fine because I always wanted to go. I had the opportunity to sing in a choir where we sang in many other churches and none of them felt the same I didn't have the same spirit. I am excited to give up eighteen months of my life to serve this church. I have a testimony in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love the atonement and the opportunity to repent for past transgressions. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of the world and that President Thomas S. Monson is the new Prophet. I believe that they receive revelations for the world. I have a testimony in all the principles of the church because I have prayed for that knowledge and have acted on them. I know that this church is true because I asked the Lord and he has testified it to me every day by showing me the blessing that I have because of my faith. My life is not perfect and I have hard times but I know that it is easier because of the church and the people that have been put into my life at the times that I needed them the most.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to be an example of Christ with everyone I meet. One of the things that I do is visit with sisters of the church and share a spiritual message and to ask if they need anything or they just want to talk things out that might be troubling them. I also get the opportunity to share the gospel with people I work with when I talk to them about my mission. I will be serving a mission and will be able to help so many people in my area by sharing the love of Christ and just being there to serve them.
