Hi I'm Adam Ron Arnett IV

I'm from the metropolis of Gilbert, AZ. I love my family and being spontaneously active. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Being active is what I do. I'm an Arizona Academic All-American in Football, an Eagle Scout, I love to play and coach lacrosse, and I find crossfit to be an enjoyable way to pass the time. I come from an entertaining family of 7 kids + my awesome mom and dad = 9. We were taught to work and take care of each other in our home and that alone has taught me many life lessons that are now of great value to me as I am serving the Lord as a full time missionary in the Washington D.C. North Mission (D.C. and the 5 surrounding Maryland counties.) I love my family and I love serving the Lord and sharing with others about what has brought me so much joy in my life and not just a temporary happiness!

Why I am a Mormon

I've had the blessing of being born into and raised in a lovin Mormon family, but the choice to continue being a Mormon is my own. As I went into my Senior year of high school I began to see how living within the guidelines and standards that God has set will bless my life. Sometimes we call those guidelines "commandments". They've been around for quite a long time and God loves us too dang much to change them, and the blessings of living our lives according to the commandments has been proven. Multiple times in my own life. As I live the commandments and standards that God has set I find that I have lasting "joy" and not just a temporary "happiness". Happiness is the feelings I get in the final seconds of a lacrosse game when a beauty of top corner shot is hit to win the game! The overwhelming feelings of excitement and adrenaline are exhilarating in the moment, but in the short time of an day, or week those feelings can dissolve and leave you searching for the next moment of "happiness". In contrast to "happiness" a lasting "joy" relates best to the feelings that I get as I am able to spend time with my family loved ones, build our relationship, realize how blessed I am to have such wonderful people in my life. Such as a fishing trip or a game of banana grams. I also find these feelings of "joy" as I attend church or try to quit being selfish for a moment and serve someone in need. I feel "joy" as I read in the Book of Mormon and the Bible and feel how deeply my Heavenly Father loves me while I learn about the Savior suffering for all of my sins, and while I learn that he wants me to have joy in this life. But "joy" as I've learned, only come by being obedient to the commandments of the Lord. So why am I a Mormon? Because I know that if I want to have joy then I must live within the guidelines that God has set. Those guidelines are made known to me through the scriptures, prayer and a living prophet who communicates with God for the world. I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

At the moment I am on a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In our church it is 100% optional to serve a mission or not, but we feel that it is our duty to go where the Lord sends us, and to share with the world the knowledge that most importantly Christ is the only way that we are able to return back to our loving Heavenly Father, there is no other way. But we also sharing the exciting news of how Christ has again established His church, with the fullness of His teachings and doctrine through living prophets! Just as He did in the times of the Old and New testament!! It is very literally a 24/7 job for 2 years but I love what I'm able to do and it brings me pure joy to see how teaching people about the fullness of Christ's gospel changes lives!

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Adam Ron Arnett IV
The answer may seem simple... almost too simple but all that we have to do to build our relationship with our Father in Heaven is: 1) Believe in Him. Know that He loves you and wants what is best for you. 2) Pray to Him. It is a commandment to pray and prayer is our line of communication with our Heavenly Father. If you never talk to an old friend you can't expect to have a great relationship with them. If we want to have a good relationship with our Father in Heaven we must pray. 3) Read the scriptures. If you want to speak to God you pray. If you want God to speak to you, you read His words in the scriptures and as you are humble and seek the direction of your Father in Heaven it'll come to you. Maybe not in the time that we want it, but it WILL come! 4) Keep the commandments. If you want to have a good relationship with your neighbors you won't ignore them when they repeatedly ask you to turn down your music. If you want to have a good relationship with your Heavenly Father you won't ignore Him when He gives you His direction that you've been looking for through reading the scriptures and prayer! It is a simple formula but it works! If I feel distant from my Heavenly Father it is most likely because I haven't taken the time to read the scriptures, pray, or I'm doing something wrong, but as soon as I get back on my game I feel His love again!
