Hi I'm Joe Verhagen

I was born and raised in Alaska and have loved it! I've been blessed with a wonderful family and I'm happy with life!

About Me

I come from a big family where we work and play together. Living in Alaska means I love the outdoors: Hunting, Snowmobiling, Camping and just enjoying nature. I've worked construction while growing up and that taught me good work ethic. I'm serving a Full tome mission for my church and have loved it so much. I love serving other people getting to know them and being a good friend to everyone I know.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church for so many different reasons. Some reasons in particular that I think of is the huge focus on the family and learning self control in thoughts, words, and actions. These things have changed my life and I clearly see the outward evidence and benefits of the good choices I make according to what is generally taught in this church. Also I have learned through this church how to really communicate with All mighty God and I know that he knows me.

How I live my faith

I have a strong conscience that has kept me close to the Lord and my beliefs. I have given service in any way I could since I was young including: The Boy Scouts of America, 4-H clubs, church callings and a full time 2 year mission. I've learned a lot about patience in life as I've been through a couple rough times in my life. I've developed patience with myself and others as I have got to know so many people from other religions, political parties, different life styles etc. I am grateful for all of those experiences because I've learned to love people from all those different walks of life. It has broadened my understanding of what this life is all about.
