Hi I'm Sydney

I love to sing and dance! Especially ballroom dancing!I I love going to the movies, and laughing. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children and have lived in Utah my whole life. I am getting ready to serve a mission in Guadalajara Mexico, and I am so excited to share the gospel with them. I love to sing and have been involved with a few choirs. I can never really sit still because my body has this constant urge to dance. My favorite type is ballroom because I love that you may be a good dancer but, it feels good to know that you have a dance partner that is trying just as hard as you are to create a beautiful piece of art. I have grown up watching the classic Disney movies and they will always be in my heart ;) I will quote them for hours at a time and I think I have every Disney song on my ipod that have had completely memorized since before I can remember. Not only do they have beautiful princesses, and handsome love interests, and fun songs, but they teach life lessons in ways that little kids can understand and keep with them the rest of their lives. Not only am I Disney fan, but Harry Potter is also a favorite. I think the first time I read it I fell in love with the magic world, and wished so badly to be apart of it, and the more I think about it I fell in love with all the characters, and cried really hard when some of my favorite characters were killed off...but I pulled through haha. In the words of J.K. Rowling, " Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home."

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger I was going through a rough spot. I didn't really like going to church because it was boring, and I didn't feel like I was getting anything out of the scriptures, and I felt like no one was listening to me when I prayed. So I thought to myself that I could do it by myself and I didn't really needed any of the things that my church leaders had taught that I did. Believe me when I say I was a mess for almost a year of my life. I remember after waking up one morning that I knew what I had to do to be happy. I was so tired of not feeling as happy, and that things just seemed to be getting worse than getting better. I got down on my knees and started to cry, not knowing what how to go about making the necessary changes in my life but knowing they had to happen. You know what it feels like when you get a hug from your mom after a really hard day of school, and she strokes your hair and hold you close, then tells you it's going to be ok? when I was on my knees it felt like I was getting a gentle hug. I knew that was the love of my Savior Jesus Christ that I felt that day, and have felt ever since. That day I knew I couldn't do it on my own, and that the gospel, was here to protect, and guide us to be the people that we are meant to be, and it was going to get me back to my Heavenly Father again. I will never go back on my decision, and have never regretted that decision. In every aspect of my life I have been blessed and I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Well I am getting ready to serve a mission in Mexico, and I have many opportunities, to practice sharing my testimony with others. In my prep I had to save a lot of money, so therefore I had two jobs. All the time I would get people asking me questions, and was able to answer them. I also try to serve people, like Jesus Christ does in the scriptures. I have constantly had to tell myself that serving people doesn't have to be some extravagant thing but could be as simple as saying hello, or holding a door open, or just making someone's day a little easier.
