Hi I'm Aspen

I was born in California, but grew up in Utah. I have a strong interest in cultures and animals. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a strong interest in different countries and cultures, but my main focus has been Japan. I even got the pleasure of visiting Japan with my older sister. I also love animals and hope to become a veterinarian. I plan to go to college to learn how to be a vet after my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I have gone through a period of inactivity. During that time, I was an angry and unfriendly person. Looking back, however, the whole time I knew deep down that the church was true. I was simply denying it. Thanks to my loving and persistent mother, I was able to come back to God's true church. I remember my favorite primary song. It was called "A Child's Prayer". Not only did it have a sweet tune, but the words always got to me. The first lines of the song go like this: "Heavenly Father, are you really there? And do you hear and answer every child's prayer?" When I was young, I would always get emotional when singing or listening to this song. That emotional feeling, I know now, was the Spirit testifying to me that God really is there answering your prayers, just as the second verse goes. That was my first testimony. After my period of inactivity, and once I came back into the church, I received an even stronger testimony. I realized how much of a difference the gospel makes in my life. I went from being an unfriendly and angry person, to a happy person.

How I live my faith

Unfortunately, I haven't had any callings in the Church due to the fact that I went through a period of inactivity. I have since returned to the Lord's church and now attend my meetings every Sunday, and read the scriptures and pray daily. I hope to one day receive a calling in the ward.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Aspen
It is simply a nickname given to us. The name comes from the book in which we believe in: The Book of Mormon. We aren't technically "Mormons", we are actually, and more correctly, LDS (Latter-day Saints). Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Aspen
Absolutely. We are The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the name, it proves that we are a very Christ centered church. Show more Show less
