Hi I'm Madie McCleary

I enjoy anything with family and friends --- Especially snow skiing, boating, running, hiking & eating good food.

About Me

I am 19 years old and love being a Mormon! I have two younger brothers and a wonderful family. Gotta give some props to my fam, I love 'em. I studied nursing at Utah State University. I would like to share some bizarre story that would set me apart from others LDS kids, but I'm kinda the average joe. My front tooth is fake? I'm left handed? Basically- as long as I am keeping busy, I am a perfectly happy human. :) I've often been told that I'm a little too tall, too blunt, or too relaxed. I suppose those could be taken as good or bad things? Being raised LDS was perfect for me. Although I grew up going to church, I still had to gain my personal testimony just as any other person would. Coming to know that through Jesus Christ we can return to Heavenly Father one day has given me purpose and direction in life. I hope this little paragraph sums me up. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I KNOW with all my heart that this is the only church on earth today with the restored gospel, the priesthood power, and a living prophet. The process of me gaining my testimony of this was a long one. Through the Book of Mormon God has helped me and showed his love for me in more ways than I deserve. He has always been there for me even when I didn't deserve it. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is perfect. It holds all truth and power. As we here on earth trying to understand God's plan for us individually we make mistakes, disappoint, and try and try again, and still never completely grasp hold of all the blessings and mercy the atonement of Jesus Christ can bring. A testimony isn't just built in a day. It takes lots of time, prayer, study, and FAITH. FAITH IS KEY. Whenever I have had troubles in keeping my testimony strong, it is faith in Jesus Christ that gets me through. The Holy Ghost is someone who will always be there for you as long as you are worthy and will listen. And through him, anyone can come to know that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Throughout my childhood and young teenage years, all of my friends were LDS. Because of this, it was a lot easier not to give into temptations and pressure that most high school kids go through. It definitely was a good place to build a foundation for a testimony of Christ's church. The down-side of living in such a high populated city of Mormon's was that the standards of the church were often rationalized through the large amounts of members, and kids would convince themselves that slightly bending the rules was okay. I will even admit that I was guilty of this many times. This is when I had to remember that COMMANDMENTS are COMMANDMENTS and "rules" (so to say) are "rules." They aren't meant to be tampered with, or slightly changed just to be convenient to our lifestyle. I had to stay TRUE TO THE FAITH. Throughout my life I have served in many leadership positions in the church, and had responsibilities to teach girls that lived around me. Through these positions I have learned many values that I couldn't have learned elsewhere. I have seen other people's point of views on their relationship with God and those around them. If I have come to understand anything by these experiences, it is unconditional Christ-like love. No matter what someone does, you still love them. And loving them more than BEFORE. The church has brought me so many blessings in relationships with people and the way I have come to love Heavenly Father through faith and countless prayers.
