Hi I'm Megan

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am an only child. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love singing I have been singing since I was young and haven't stopped. Music is the easiest for me to feel the spirit and touch others lives. I also love doing genealogy for my family. It is so exciting to find new information about my family. I love genealogy so much I want to do it for a living. I am planning on going to school next year and get my associates in Family History Research.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my entire life, but when I was younger I had some issues with depression that caused me to stray from the gospel. I felt lost, alone, and confused. I had a difficult time trusting people and felt as though no one cared for me. I began to hang out with the wrong crowd and it didn't help my self esteem at all and my faith was weakened to the point that I wasn't sure if God was real or not. I one day was at school and a young girl who was in one of my classes asked if she could sit by me. From then on she sat and talked to me next to me everyday for the rest of the school year. I hadn't felt so loved in a long time and my heart began to "melt" so to speak for I was beginning to allow this girl to gain my trust. As I began to trust her I became aware of someone who had been waiting for me. I started to want to read my scriptures again and as I did I began to feel God's love for me once again. Soon his love was stronger than ever before and I knew that he Loved and Cared for Me. From then on I knew God was real and I as I began to go to church and read The Book of Mormon all they did was verify to me that he was real. I knew in my heart that this is God's church and that he wants us to follow him, because he loves and cares for not only me, but every single person in the world. He died for us so he could help us. I testify that if we bring God into our lives he will lead us to where we want to go, and if we decide to leave him he will be there ready to welcome us back with open and loving arms.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through music. I am in an college choir as well as my ward choir. I love being able to praise God in song. Sometimes, when I am having a bad day I will just sing a song and makes me feel better. When I perform with my college and ward choir we focus don't just focus on sounding good, but we focus on bringing the spirit as we sound good. It makes me happy when I am performing to see the joy and love on people's faces. I feel as though I am a missionary proclaiming God's love for everyone in the entire audience when I perform. I am so glad that music is apart of my life and I hope it will continue to be apart of it so that I can keep blessing others.
