Hi I'm Hilary Colby Zumbrennen

I am a Mormon and I live it, love it, and know it. I am grateful to have the truthfulness of the gospel in my life.

About Me

I am happily married with two children. My husband was in the military and is now out of the service. My daughter is serving in the Air-force.. My son is a junior in high school this year. I served a mission to Neuquén, Argentina from 1996 to 1997. I loved being able to meet the people there and learn from them. In 2005, I was diagnosed with MS. I have found that my faith in my heavenly and the support of my family has been my biggest support. I am blessed to be sealed to my husband/children but also to my parents and sister. I am excited to spend eternity with them. I love doing genealogy and excited to meet family members that I have lost or passed away before I was born. I am grateful for the examples and sacrifices that my past generations have made for me to have the things I have today.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. Yes, I was raised in the church. However, my mother was a convert and courageous in choosing to learn about the church. I admire the decision she made to join. I know that my parents would love me no matter what church I choose. But being Mormon feels real and right to me. I can feel the truthfulness of the religion deep inside me. I could not deny it. I think my testimony grew even more when I served a mission. Yes, my life is not always easy as it is for many, but I know my beliefs make it feel worth it. I know that I have a Heavenly Father that loves me. I know he loves me perfectly. I know he prepared a plan for me and everyone to return to him. However, he allows us to make the decisions to return to him. This plan he prepared for us will lead us to an eternal happiness and not a temporal one. I know that I am here at this time for a purpose and opportunity to help with my Heavenly Father's plan. Therefore, I need to be willing to listen to the guidance that I receive from the Holy Ghost in my life and act on those promptings. I know that my Heavenly Father has restored the church that Christ established on this earth when he was here. He restored and continues to lead it through Prophets and Apostles. I know Joseph Smith was a worthy man of god and was given the authority to restore Christ's church and translate the Book of Mormon. I know that the church did not end when he died but continued through other Prophets; even Pres. Thomas S. Monson today. I love hearing him speak and his apostles. I know they are inspired men to lead and guide us at this time. I feel the spirit without a doubt when they speak to us. I also know that the gospel they teach us is eternal. I know the Heavenly Father plan is eternal. He wants us to eternally be happy and be with our families. I know that the temples are a house dedicated to the Heavenly father, where we can go to be sealed to our families for eternity.

How I live my faith

I like to think that I live my faith everyday in everything I do. I really try to think about each thing that I do and say. I know we are not just down here on this earth, at this time, without a purpose. I believe that my heavenly father loves me so much that he has prepared a way for myself and everyone to return back to him. It is only us that have to decide to follow that path.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Hilary Colby Zumbrennen
The only advice I can give to know is honestly pray and ask you Heavenly Father. I say Honestly meaning to really search and ponder over the question and then ask with faith that you will receive the answer. Then the best thing to do is wait. You might get the answer quickly or it might take time but listen and look for it. The answer will come. Show more Show less
