Hi I'm Charlie

I grew up in a military family. I went to elementary school in three countries, and high school in three states.

About Me

I am the father of three beautiful girls. I love playing in the backyard, going on adventures, hikes, bike rides, watching movies, and reading with my family. I enjoy playing basketball and getting together with friends and family often. Music has always been a big part of my life. I learned to play the piano at a young age and played the drums in the marching band during high school and college. I now enjoy singing in the choir at church, and watching my girls learn to sing, dance, and experiment with my hand drums and other impromptu instruments around the house.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a mormon has shaped my whole life. The decisions I have made, and being where I am today have come because of the relationship I have with my Savior Jesus Christ. Whenever I have had a major life decision to make, I have turned to prayer and fasting until I felt I was making a choice based on what God wanted me to do. I feel the same way about being a Mormon, that it is what God what's from me. I have grown up as a member of this church, and have always actively participated in whatever way I could. There are several reasons I continue to do so. One is that it truly makes sense to me. I can see the immediate blessings it has brought to my life. The doctrine and concepts taught to me make me feel good inside, and help me find answers to important life questions. I have had confirmation from God that this is his church, and that he has called a prophet to lead it. This confirmation has come in several ways. I have felt God's spirit tell me in my heart that it is true. I have also had that feeling reaffirmed to me many times as I have shared that testimony with others. These feelings I have as I teach and serve others are the reason I am a mormon and why I hope others will want to find out more of the religion I have dedicated my life to.

How I live my faith

One of my responsibilities at church is to spend time with, advise, and assist the full time missionaries that are serving in my area. This has given me the opportunity to meet many new people and teach others about my faith and belief in Jesus Christ. I feel God's love for me when I share my feelings and the blessings I have received from being a member of this church. As the father and husband of my home, I try to lead my family in our spiritual battle against evil. Our home is a sacred place where we make a strong effort to protect ourselves from influences of the world that will disrupt our happiness. I pray for my family every day, we also pray together every night and at meals. We read the scriptures together daily and make it a priority to do activities together as a family regularly.
