Hi I'm Jami

I am a student. I am an athlete. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old and I love to play sports. I do not care what sport I am playing, as long as it is fun and keeps me moving, I will love it! In High School I played on the tennis team and now days I really enjoy playing pickleball, which is best explained as, ping pong and tennis mixed together. I love it because anyone can play it! It is more about skills than athletic ability. In the last year, I got my associates of science degree and am now taking a break from school as I am preparing to serve a Mission. I have wanted to go on a mission all of my life because the gospel is amazing and the reason I enjoy life. My whole goal for going on a mission is that others can be happy as they come to feel God's love for them.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in High School, I knew something was missing. I had gone to church when I was little and I had been baptized when I was eight, but I had not been consistently attending since I was nine. While I technically was considered a mormon because I had been baptized, I did not associated myself with any faith. I was not sure what I believed in. In my sophomore year, my friend invited me to take seminary with her and attend church with her. I remember going to church with her and just feeling so happy and peaceful. I loved that feeling! Seminary brought that feeling as well. I began reading the Book of Mormon and before I knew it, I was going to church in my own ward. I was going by myself, but I was okay with that because I was going because I knew that the message of Jesus Christ's gospel is true! I know that the Lord loves me and wants me to be happy, He has created a plan for you and I to become our best and happiest selves. I continue to choose to be a Mormon because it is the reason I am happy! I know that this is Christ's true church!

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith in the way I treat others, I feel like the way you interact with a people says a lot about what you believe. It is something I am strongly working on. We are all imperfect and I struggle each day to remind myself to look outside of myself and think of others as I know Christ did. I can see the difference in myself on the days that I am more aware and kind to others, I feel like I am becoming my better self. As a Mormon I feel the little things we are asked to do helps me to live my faith, as I strive to put Christ first that I am living my faith. I put Him first as I pray to Him and read the holy scriptures that he has blessed me with, their guidance help me in my daily choices. I am so grateful for His Gospel and the knowledge that if and when I make a mistake that He will forgive me and I can try again. I know He loves me and I try each day to show His love to those I come in contact with.
