Hi I'm Ethan Randall Jamison

I'm a musician, missionary, friend, brother, avid music-listener, and I am a Mormon

About Me

I am a fan of all types of music. I believe that the beauty of rhythms can draw us closer to God whether it is through music, skateboarding, the peaceful breeze while long-boarding or just simply getting out for a walk in nature. I am an advocate for long walks on the beach but I have decided to put all things on hold to serve the Lord. I am currently serving a mission in Oregon for The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is currently my life and I love every bit of it. Also in the mission we are testing out Facebook, if you'd like a friend that shares up-lifting messages, feel free to message me with just a short bio of who you are and add me:)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert in heart to Mormonism. I was born and raised in the church, but I have gained a great testimony on the essential value of conversion. One of the Apostles of our church said once "Knowing that the Gospel is true is the essence of a testimony. Consistently being true to the Gospel is the essence of conversion." I testify of the importance of testing out the commandments of God and submitting ourselves to His will. As I did so, I found I was happier, calmer, and filled with more love for others. I am Mormon because I know I can find happiness in life by following these teachings and doing what my Father in Heaven has asked me to do. I invite you to test out the commandments as well. I promise you that blessings will come; and that eternal happiness may be obtained.

How I live my faith

Living the Faith is an essential part of all things. This is seen through my actions, deeds, and works. I feel it is so important to be examples of Christ's love. We must love everyone. Even if we don't like them. This love, or charity is what I strive to obtain, maintain, and exemplify. Being nice, kind, and loving towards my fellow-men is how I strive to live my faith. Serving others and helping lift people up in life is the aspect I strive to have while living my faith.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Ethan Randall Jamison
To first understand this question, I ask you, Where do you go to get a driver's license? Would 31 Baskin Robbins, or Pizza Hut legally suffice? Authority specifically in the Church of Jesus Christ is what allows God to continue being a God of order. It allows for specific people to be called as Authorized Representatives. Just as you would go to a DMV(Department of Motor Vehicles) with authorized representatives to get a Drivers Licence, you must go to God's Authorized Representatives to be baptized and receive membership into the Church of Jesus Christ. Though you may be a fantastic Driver, (or Christlike Individual), there is still the need of order and authorization. This Authority is found in the Church of Jesus Christ and is known as the Priesthood. The priesthood is the authority to act in God's name. To use His power to bless His children upon the Earth. It is represented and authorized through degrees of representatives so that none may abuse this Sacred power. Just as the DMV has representatives reporting up to an authority over them all the way up to the head. This order allows for correct use and principles to be taught to the users and benefactors. This Priesthood power is found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and it allows everyone the opportunity to find and use this blessing and power in their lives if they are just willing to believe and test it out. If they are just willing to "behold the fruits." Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Ethan Randall Jamison
Let's relate this to a classic car. Over time a car will begin to have problems and fall apart. As this process begins, the driver will take steps in repairing the car, to running order, with either new or used parts mixing in newer pieces and unnatural parts. Though the car may return to working order it will not be the same classic car it once was, and that's only the beginning. There are people who will modify and customize cars to their standards. When Jesus established His church, He set forth the standard of a running machine. It was His Classic Car. After His Crucifixion many people tried to take the bits and pieces of the car and make new vehicles. Others had the Classic Car and over time customized, modified, and used new parts to replace old and original pieces. This affected the entire make-up of the car and brought it away from what it was supposed to initially be. Over time vital pieces and parts of the Classic Car were lost and replaced with mimics and new pieces. The Lord, however, intended for it to be a Classic Car and so He waited for just the right time in which He could raise one to restore it new. The Lord waited for a time in which He could call Joseph Smith, a young boy, to prepare him for the Call of restoring it anew. Through the Prophet Joseph Smith, the Lord was able to restore His Church to it's original form and design, with all the vital and critical parts needed in being that Classic Car. It is the Original Church Restored to the Earth by God. Show more Show less
