Hi I'm Val

I am from Canada. I am a school teacher and I teach Grade Three. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 36 years and have 6 children. We currently have 9 grandchildren. I work as a Grade Three teacher in an elementary school but have taken a year's leave to serve a mission for our church with my husband in New Caledonia. I love children and enjoy spending time with them. I enjoy reading, sewing and scrap-booking. I stay physically active by walking or bike-riding most days. I am currently learning French.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church for my entire life. My father was a member of the church and he raised us with the gospel. My mother who was not a member of the church supported him in this. From a young age I felt comfortable with the teachings of the church. The gospel provided me with a set of standards and principles that felt right and true. As I grew older my conviction became stronger and I determined that life within the gospel would offer me the best chance for a happy and fulfilled life. This has proven to be true. The gospel of Jesus Christ is truly a pearl of great price and I feel very blessed to have had it's directions and influence in my life. It has give me peace and perspective during trials and has heightened my joy in all life's experiences.

How I live my faith

My church has been an important part of my life. It has given me the opportunity to serve others and to grow personally. I have loved teaching children, youth and adults. I have often had opportunities to organize activities and events and have enjoyed building friendships as I have worked with others. In our church we care for each other by visiting and supporting each other. I feel that I have been blessed as I have both given and received service.
