Hi I'm Bill Bodine

I'm a soccer coach. I'm a 2nd Degree Blackbelt. I love riding my bike to the point of exhaustion. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a husband, father of five and grandfather of six. More than anything else, that is what defines who I am. When my children were young they wanted to do Karate. We kicked, punched, stretched, sparred and practiced anything else we could to be as proficient as we could in this. It was rewarding participating in tournaments and exhibitions as individuals and as a family team. As my children grew, they decided they wanted to spend more time with the sport of soccer. I attended training seminars and started coaching. My children joined traveling clubs and we transitioned into a "soccer family". Our family saw the country and even other parts of the world as we improved in our soccer skills. Inevitably, our children reached the point of leaving home for college, church missions and other pursuits. Triathlons then became the focus of our free time. Now as my children have grown and started families of their own, my wife and I enjoy nothing more than a bike ride in the picturesque mountains of Utah. Other than keeping us fit and providing us with memorable experiences, these activities have taught me that time spent with family is time best spent.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that God does live. He is a living and loving Heavenly Father. He has set a pattern for how He would have his children cared for. A critical part of that pattern is having a prophet on the earth that acts as his mouth piece to his children. I testify that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God. He is a good, humble, loving, dedicated man that has been called by prophecy and the laying on of hands to preach and administer the affairs of God's church on the earth. This church is an authorized vehicle to help us, His children, learn of Him and prepare to return to live with Him, as families, for ever. I believe in these things. I testify of these things. That is why I am a Mormon!!!!!!

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints I have had the opportunity of serving in many capacities. At times this has included teaching and spending many hours a week with the youth of the church. At other times it has allowed more service opportunities with the adults and other times still has involved the cleaning of our meeting house. In the church we label these as "callings". We do not ask for specific callings nor do we aspire to positions of responsibility. We willingly accept responsibilities that our leaders request of us. My wife and I have had positions of leadership where we needed to delegate responsibilities out to other members and we have had roles where leaders have requested specific duties of us. Serving in this manner, I hope, has had the benefit of teaching me to be more attuned to the needs of others rather than focusing on my own desires. I have spent hours on my knees praying for and even more hours serving individuals in my care. The love I feel and the concern I have for those I have served has taught me, in a small measure, of the love our Heavenly Father has for each of us. I believe this is how our Heavenly Father would have us spend our time and energies. That of being in the service of others.
