Hi I'm Josh Sellers

I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the church my entire life. The decision to serve a mission was not an easy one for me, but with faith in the Lord I was able to take the plunge and am now serving a full time mission. I love my family. They are the most important thing in my life and it is a great blessing to me to have the knowledge of eternal families. I have a wonderful Father and Mother and two brothers and one sister. My sister is married and has 3 sons. I have been blessed throughout my life and am grateful to my savior for the gifts i have been given.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this church is true. The principles and values it teaches make me happy and I take great comfort in its teachings. We are blessed to have the full knowledge of the gospel returned to the earth and Our Father in heaven has provided us with a clear path to follow and return to Him. He gave His son Jesus Christ to us, to atone for our sins and be our savior. There is no greater blessing than this. I love this gospel and know it is true. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that it is the word of God, as is the Bible. The Book of Mormon is convincing evidence of the divinity of our savior Jesus Christ, and that under His direction Joseph Smith was called as a Prophet and restored the true Church of Jesus Christ to the earth.

How I live my faith

I am a Missionary and in the past i have served as a teacher to the little kids in my home ward. (8-10 years old)

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Josh Sellers
The Book of Mormon was written by ancient Prophets that lived on the American continent between 600 B.C. and 400 A.D. These Prophets kept records of the peoples history as well as the revelations and teachings they received from God. One of these ancient Prophets, Mormon, eventually took all of these records and abridged them, compiling them all into one record, engraved on golden plates. Mormon's son Moroni, another Prophet, took these plates and buried them. God preserved the record and kept it safe until in 1823, Moroni appeared to Joseph Smith and showed him where the plates were buried. By the power of God, Joseph was able to translate the record and the book was published as The Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ and his divine mission as the Savior of the World. It contains the fulness of Christ's Gospel. We believe the Book of Mormon, as well as the Bible, to be the Word of God. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Josh Sellers
The act of Baptism is an outward expression of our willingness to follow Jesus Christ. It symbolizes death, burial, and rebirth into a new life as a disciple of Jesus Christ. When we are baptized, we make special covenants, or promises to Heavenly father that we will follow Jesus Christ and take his name upon us. We promise to be Witnesses of the savior in word and in deed. We promise to keep his commandments. In return, Heavenly Father promises to forgive us for our sins and we are then able to receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost as a constant companion to guide and comfort us throughout our lives. In order to receive these blessings, baptism must be performed under the proper authority of the Priesthood. Show more Show less
