Hi I'm Madi Woods

I grew up in California, I am a basketball player, wakeboarder, and missionary. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family of eight; there are six children and two parents. I love to play basketball and have since fifth grade. I just started wake boarding this year and I am obsessed. I am a college student and am loving every minute of the poor but amazing life! I love to learn and meet new people. I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in California.

Why I am a Mormon

As a member of this church I have been able to feel peace and comfort through all of life's greatest struggles. I have received undeniable answers to prayers and have been so blessed to have help from a loving Heavenly Father as I travel through life. The gospel has given me a vision of who I am, as a daughter of God, and of who I can become. Without this knowledge I would be lost. I continue to follow the gospel each day because I know it is the true source of happiness. I am a Mormon because I don't know any other way to be so completely happy.

How I live my faith

I am currently a missionary for the church and as such I talk to anyone and everyone who wants to learn more about the church. I serve all the people that I can, by doing house chores, yard work, and teaching them the gospel. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve my father in heaven and would not be anywhere else!

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Madi Woods
The Atonement is a composition of three things. First the Savior's sacrifice in the Garden of Gethsemane, second his sacrifice on the cross, and third his resurrection from the dead. These three things make life with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ possible after this. Without the Savior we would not be able to receive forgiveness of our sins. In the Garden of Gethsemane the Savior felt all of the pains and sadness that any of us would ever feel. This sadness comes from ours and others' mistakes. As the Savior suffered he was paying the price of those mistakes so that we would not have to. In the Book of Mormon we learn that "...no unclean thing can dwell with God..." (1 Nephi 10:21). Sin makes us unclean, which means that we would not be able to live with Heavenly Father as we are. Because of what the Savior did, our loving Heavenly Father can look passed our mistakes and forgive us. He also made it possible for us to gain a perfect body again after we have died. Because the Savior was resurrected (his spirit was reunited with his body) we will all be able to have that same gift; no matter how we lived our lives. This is a free gift to all of Heavenly Father's children. Show more Show less
