Hi I'm Jared

I am thankful for my parents who taught me to have good morals and values. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married since 1991 and am a father of 5, three sons who are 18, 8 and 7 and two daughters who are 15 and 12. I served a mission in Helsinki, Finland between 1986-1988. It was an awesome experience and I hope to go back and visit some day. My son began serving a mission in Raleigh, North Carolina since August 2013. I miss him but I know he is happy serving the Lord. I love watching the LA Lakers, SD Chargers, LA Kings, LA Angels and UCLA, but I'd much rather watch my kids play their sports! I love playing softball and have played since I was 17.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of how it makes me feel. Our Heavenly Father has given us a path to return to live with him again. I was fortunate to grow up in the church, but I still had to decide myself if the things I heard and read about were true. Our Father in Heaven listens to our prayers and answers them. It may not be what you want to hear, but everyone should put their faith in God and follow his direction. Forget what you did yesterday and be a better person today.

How I live my faith

For the last 3 years I taught the 10-11 year old children. It is amazing to see the spiritual growth of these fine young people. I loved teaching the New Testament in the Bible and seeing how much service Jesus gave. I loved reading the conversion of the many people who initially did not believe in Gods church and then became strong missionaries themselves. The Book of Mormon teaches about many other great prophets and the trials the people went through. We all have struggles in our daily lives, but it is a comfort to know that we have a Prophet who can help us to be better a person.
