Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a student. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student. While I love learning and am grateful for an opportunity to get an education, I have had a hard time deciding what area I should go into. Right now I'm debating between going into biology or something with more math. I think it's really neat that we live in a time where so much is known about so many subjects, and that we have access to that information. One of the talents I developed in high school was music. I played the clarinet for my high school band and the alto saxophone in junior high. Thanks to my experiences there, I have a deep love for good jazz music. I also get really excited whenever I'm listening to movie soundtracks and I recognize the sound of a clarinet. The most important thing to know about me is that I love my family. My siblings are some of my very best friends. I'm blessed to have them in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been blessed to have grown up in this church. I was baptized at the age of eight, and my testimony has continued to grow since then. I have seen the fruits of the gospel in my own life, and they are good. I have felt the peace that comes from reading the Book of Mormon. I have prayed to my Father in Heaven, and He has answered me. In times when I plead to feel His peace - to know that I am doing His will - that peace comes. I know that I am happiest when I'm living in harmony with the gospel. I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers. It may not be how or when we expect - in fact, most of the time, it's not. But I know that He does answer them. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that we are led today by a living prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. I know that happiness comes by living the laws of the gospel. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know He is my Savior and Redeemer.

How I live my faith

I am about to be set apart as a missionary for the church, where I will have the opportunity to teach those I come in contact with about the church. Before receiving this call to serve as a missionary, I had several other callings. At one point I served as one of the counselors of the women's group in my student ward, where I had the opportunity to help look out for the girls in my ward - to see to their needs, organize events, and just get to know them and to love them. One of my favorite callings was one that I received in high school. I had the opportunity to serve in a program called "Special Needs Mutual." In this program, youth and adults with special needs in the surrounding area all met once a week along with personal buddies for every participant, and activities and lessons were presented. I got to serve as a "buddy," or a youth counselor. It was an incredible experience, and I know that the participants blessed my life far more than I could have blessed theirs.
