Hi I'm Emri Haynie

I grew up in Idaho. I lived in Saudi Arabia. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am an Idaho grown girl who has been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ all my life. I have been blessed to grow up in a family who has the gospel and who loves me. I enjoy playing sports. My family is very active and we love playing, watching, or coaching all different sports. My senior year of high school my family and I moved to Saudi Arabia because of my dad's job. At first i was terrified because I've never lived anywhere else. It was my senior year of high school and so I thought I would miss the typical american senior year but when we moved over there I loved every minute of it. I met amazing people. I attended two semesters of college at BYUI but I chose to go on a mission and so I am leaving October 23, 2013 to preach the gospel in Seoul Korea. I am so excited to go share the good word to the people in Korea.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into a family who already had the gospel and as a result I have been a member my whole life. I continue to follow the gospel because I think about what my life would be like if I didn't have it, and I can't even imagine. I look at the people who don't have the joy I have in my life and I realize how blessed I am. This gospel is full of happiness and joy and I know that that's what I want to continue to have.

How I live my faith

While in Saudi Arabia I had the opportunity to share my beliefs to my friends who had never heard of our church before. It was an awesome experience for me because I'd never had the opportunity to do so since I have lived in a LDS dominate community. It really strengthened me because it made me really think about what I actually do know and believe in. I like to share the gospel to others by example and service. I love serving others not only because it makes me feel good but because that's what this whole church is about. Christ served others and I want to do the same.
