Hi I'm Nick

I grew up in Camas, WA and I'm currently serving a mission in the Guayaquil South Ecuador Mission.

About Me

I'm the guy who did everything in high school. I was in band, AP classes, and varsity sports teams. I played clarinet and guitar. I also did a lot of reading and computer work/ gaming. Since then I've studied at BYU for a year and most of what I did was focused on guitar and computers. I worked all of this last summer to save money for my mission, and now I'm leaving to serve for two years in the Ecuador Guayaquil South mission, where I'll be speaking Spanish!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this is the Gospel of Christ. It's a message of love, peace, forgiveness, and hope. It gives me a purpose in life and a certain joy like no other. I've experienced addiction, depression, injury, and sorrow, and it has been through the love and Atonement of my Savior, Jesus Christ, that I've been able to overcome them all. I know that God loves us more than we are capable of comprehending. I know that through prayer we can talk to our Father in Heaven, and that he will answer! We never have to feel alone, or misunderstood, or as if we can never change, because there is always someone who is waiting close by, arms outstretched, just waiting to catch us when we fall. If you feel like you can never change, or if your life has gone too far down a certain path, don't despair! It is never too late to change. Building a personal relationship with Jesus Christ truly changes people at a base level for the better. I know this because I've seen how's he's changed my life, and the lives of those around me. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of Christ restored to the earth. It is led by a prophet, just as in times of old, who leads and instructs us on our way through life. I know this through both my own experiences, and through the power of the Holy Ghost, and I bear my personal witness of these things to anyone who happens to read this.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon has always been a big part of my life. It's taught me public speaking skills, introduced me to scouting, given me leadership opportunities, and taught me the importance of spirituality. As I've gotten older I've been able to appreciate more and more the wonderful opportunity that the Sabbath presents. When I was in school I saw a day of rest as a restriction, but after having worked full time I better understand the great blessing that it really is. It's important to take time off from the week to rest and recharge both mind, body, and spirit. This church has also had a massive impact on my day to day living. I try to be honest and nice to everyone. I never swear, I don't drink, and I keep myself sexually pure. I've had the opportunity to make many different friends over the years, and while some may live very differently from myself, I'm thankful that our differences haven't affected the closeness of those friendships.
