Hi I'm Melody

I'm a language enthusiast. I can't cook for the life of me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was burn on rural Missouri, but I've lived in Utah approximately nine years. I'm right in the middle of eight children. Six boys, two girls. I'm not sure how I survived, but I'm REALLY not sure how my mother survived. I really like languages and cultures. I like researching words, and their history, and other things generally considered to be 'nerd-ish,' though I prefer the phrase 'obnoxiously curious.' I'm terrible at geography. I attended college for a year and a half before making the choice to serve a mission for the LDS church, something I'm quite grateful for. I'm to leave early tomorrow morning for Peru, where I've been told I'm to learn Spanish. I have a step-dad. His name is Kieth. He's constantly eating all the chocolate in the house, and we've given up trying to keep up with him. He's also fond of gardening, and falling asleep during conversations, but only when done on a comfy couch.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because this is where peace is for me. My testimony of the gospel and the church is a very intimate thing. This is how I feel closer to my Father in Heaven, something that's personally important to me. I have a testimony of this church, that it is the restored church of our Savior, and that this is the truth. This is where I know I'm supposed to be, and that Christ is orchestrating it's work.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. I've always had a hard time reaching out and investing in other people. I'm a homebody. Introvert. But when I got my first visiting teaching calling, all my constructions I'd made about the part I play in social situations melted away. I loved those people. I truly did. I understood that I was there as a servant of God and the church, and that it was my job to help take care and love them in any way I could. So I serve. Because that's how I love.
