Hi I'm Jimmy

I am from California. I love the beach and the people in my life. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in California my entire life. I love the outdoors, I enjoy going to the beach, hiking,, and camping. I love spending time with my friends and family, talking and hanging out is probably my favorite thing to do. I love language, in high school I took French and German and now I am learning Japanese. Currently I am serving a mission in Japan, Tokyo. I am a high school graduate and am going to attend BYU Provo studying economics after I return home from my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ because I have a testimony of this restored gospel. I sincerely desired to know if the church was true. One night I pondered this and wished that it could just be revealed to me. Then, I realized it could. The simple truth is that the gospel is based in revelation. I got down on my knees and asked God if this church was true. I did not receive a witness right away, rather I was prepared to receive it, and months later I felt the undeniable influence of the spirit of God in my life as I continued to pray and read the scriptures. This taught me two things: to succeed in the obtaination of revelation we must first have the pure desire to know and then the willingness and dedication to study. Since then, the church has been revealed to me as true in little ways, step by step. Each witness I've received is powerful and continues to inspire me to grow closer to Christ. I have learned that when we are obedient to the will of God, he is more likely to bless us with a sensitivity to the spirit; we are able to learn by it more easily.

How I live my faith

I grew up in the church, but recently I have really been trying to apply it in my life. As I have I have seen my confidence and success in life increase, and the closer I get to it, the happier I become. For the next two years I will be serving in Japan as a missionary. The best advice I can give to truly realize the gospel of Jesus Christ is to earnestly try to live it. The saying goes, by their works ye shall know them, and the same is true of the gospel.
