Hi I'm James

I grew up in Utah. I want to become a mechanical engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to play all kinds of sports. I love to listen to music. I graduated high school and plan on attending college. I hope to become a mechanical engineer and design mechanical products. I love my family and my friends. I love to do fun activities with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My parents are members and they raised me in the church. I wasn't always so sure of the gospel. I didn't really appreciate what the gospel did for me and the influence that it can be. I was one of those that relied a lot on my parents testimonies. A couple of years ago is when I finally realized how awesome this gospel is and how much love God has for each and every one of us. I stay true to the gospel because I love having the peace and the comfort of the knowledge it gives me and being able to repent of my sins so that I am able to return to be with my loving heavenly father. The gospel means everything to me now. I can't see my life being without the gospel. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he loves us. I know that through Him we will be able to return to live with our Heavenly Father and have eternal life. I know that life is hard, but when you have faith in Christ and stay true to the gospel principles, everything will work out and I know that you will be blessed. I know Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. I know that we have a living prophet today that leads and guides us. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that it is another testament of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am about to become a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Before I was called to serve a mission I was part of the youth presidency for the 16-18 year old youth. I would plan activities, help other youth who were part of that age group and I would help the leaders make the activity happen. I was also involved in hometeaching and helped other members of my ward.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons believe in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. We believe that they work hand in hand with each other. We believe that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and his influence that He had on others. The Bible is also a testament of the wonderful things that Christ did and the wonderful miracles that Christ can perform through the power of the priesthood. They are both filled with testimonies of Christ from prophets. Those prophets gained those testimonies by the power of the Holy Ghost. We believe that both the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God and are both Holy Scripture. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

LDS members help everyone they can. They don't just help other Mormons. If asked for help then they will come to help with anything that is needed. Charity is the pure love of Christ. Mormons are asked to follow Jesus Christ's example and help those that need help without the thought of getting anything in return. They do service out of love for the person they are serving. Mormons are told to help everyone. Show more Show less
