Hi I'm Lyric

I have lived in Arizona my whole life. I am going to be a missionary. I love life and cheesecake. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to serve a mission for the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I am leaving in October 2013 and I am extremely excited. I will be serving in Argentina. During high school and college i have loved running, kickboxing, sleeping and eating. My favorite subjects are English and Anatomy even though they nothing in common. I am a hardcore bookworm. If i could read 24/7 i would. Reading and drinking smoothies, I consider that a good time. I love my family and friends so much.

Why I am a Mormon

During my life I have had many questions as to why I would be a member of the LDS faith. I was born in the church and have learned of the gospel my whole life. Throughout my life though, I have had to gain my own testimony of the gospel. When I decided to leave my job and college for 18 months to serve a mission for my church, the questions became much more frequent and i would be asked by many peers Why are you a Mormon and why would you serve a mission? I am a Mormon because I have felt the warm, comforting feeling of the Holy Ghost when I read the scriptures, attend church, and pray. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are mindful of each person and that they love each of us more then we can imagine. I have leaned on that feeling of love during the hard trials of my life. I am so grateful that they are always there to talk to when I am sad, mad, happy, excited, or nervous. I am a Mormon because I have made mistakes in my life and through the Atonement of Christ I was able to be forgiven. I know the Jesus Christ sacrificed himself so that we have the chance to repent through the Atonement. I know that pain, sadness, and guilt can be erased with the help of the Atonement. I am a Mormon because I know Joseph Smith restored the same church that used to be on the earth during Christ's life. He saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He translated the Book of Mormon and he was a powerful Prophet. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and I know that the words within it are true. I am a Mormon because I know that through the church and Temple ordinances families can be together forever. I know that the family unit is sacred and through the gospel that family unit is protected. I am a Mormon because I know that the gospel that I live is true and it blesses my life daily. I am going to be a missionary because I want to teach others about the gospel that I love.

How I live my faith

During the last year I was able to attend singles ward and while there I was on the activities committee. Along with a group of other ward members we planned several different activities for the ward. We put together an ugly Christmas sweater dinner, a new years eve part, a ward camping trip, and several other activities. It was really fun and it was a good experience to work with my peers to try to bring everything together. We all had to pitch in or we couldn't pull it off. I taught me to be accountable to those that expected me to work full out in my calling. Since they counted on me I was determined to do my part. During these past months I have returned to my home ward before leaving for my mission. While there I was a nursery helper. In nursery i was able to spend time the kids who were 18months-threeyears in the ward. I loved being with them. I was able to read stories with them, eat animal crackers, and build some epic train sets. During the two hours I was with them a teacher would teach a s very basic principle. One week they would be taught sharing, the next we learned about Temples, then families, and one week we did Heavenly Father. It was a amazing to see how much they already understood. I was able to continue to build my testimony of the gospel through seeing them love the teachings of the gospel so much. It was a wonderful experience.
