Hi I'm Alicia

I'm from Indiana. I love food! I'm a college student. I'm a mentor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student and I love everything about it! I'm currently studying Child Development and I'm planning to go on to graduate school to become a counselor. I love my family! I am the second oldest of six. I have four brothers and one sister. I love meeting new people! I think it's the coolest thing to learn from someone else's experiences, and the insights they've gained throughout their life. I also believe one of the coolest feelings is helping someone feel good about themselves, or helping them recognize something great within them. Anyways I love running, photography, music, reading, and anything that has to do with food.

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't always want to be a Mormon. I didn't believe it was true for some time, until I decided to find out for myself. So I decided to read "The Book of Mormon", which is another testament of Jesus Christ. It was written by prophets in the Americas who testified of Christ and of His visit to the Americas after His resurrection. As I read the book I came to know Christ and that He was my Savior. After reading the book I prayed about it. I still remember praying about it too. The answer I received was simple and clear, and I knew the things I had read were true. Since then I have continually tried to come to know Jesus Christ, and I testify that there is no greater joy than coming to know Him. He is the way to true happiness. I know we have a loving Heavenly Father who is aware of all our challenges. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior, and that He continues to perform miracles in our lives. We will come to recognize those miracles as we seek Him.

How I live my faith

A little over two years ago, I made the decision to serve a full-time mission. I served in Utah, speaking Spanish. I can say that I've never had a greater or more powerful experience than serving a mission. It has changed me forever. It was the coolest thing to go and give eighteen months to serve, love, and teach people of Jesus Christ and of His infinite love for them. By this I was able to see the lives of the people I taught change as they sought for His love, which brought them a powerful understanding that they were children of God. I am now currently serving in the church as a missionary preparation teacher. I am assisting in helping young single adults, who desire to serve a mission, to prepare for a mission. I absolutely love it! It gives me an opportunity to share what I learned from my experience.
