Hi I'm Harrison Dean

I'm a singer, a writer, the biggest goofball ever, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was born in Washington state as the youngest and only son. I have 4 older sisters and have always enjoyed my family. I graduated from highschool in 2010 and have always enjoyed weightlifting and singing. I am highly into fitness and have tried hard to always be in shape, however the occasional treat becomes too tempting. I started writing when I was about 14 years old, since then I have written, but not finished, numerous books, story lines, or scripts. I started writing song lyrics at about 15 years old and began singing at the age of 16. I picked up the guitar for my 21st birthday and have been trying to teach myself how to play, and it's...going well ish. I intend to be an actor when I get older, however it is quite tough to be that way and live my morals and standards. I love to cook and I love to be outside in the cool fall air.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I questioned it myself. I was raised in the LDS church, but I never had a true knowledge for myself until I asked certain questions and had a desire to learn for myself. As I learned of how to gain my own testimony and how to receive a knowledge for myself, I began to question logically what God would have me do and I wanted to know what the truth was. I found for myself that God does make sense in everything he does. Everything he does has a purpose and a need for it. We can know his purpose and he can share with us what we want to know, only if we ask him. Not only that, but I don't like lying. I have always disliked covering the truth or holding it back to make someone feel better. I love the truth and I can't hold it back. Even if I wasn't born into this church, the search for the truth would have lead me to it anyway.

How I live my faith

I do my best to go out to anyone and everyone and help anyone that I see in need. I am serving as an LDS missionary on the Navajo Indian Reservation in the 4 corners area of the southwest United States. I do my best to share my beliefs just by being nice and friendly to everyone. Before my mission I would do everything I could to stand up for my morals and the things that I live for and profess to believe in. Often I would have discussions with friends about my views and try to help them understand as best as I could of how it benefits my life.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Harrison Dean
As I have studied the Old and New Testaments, I have wondered for myself, what is God's pattern in speaking with His children? As I continued to read I have come across verses such as Ephesians 2:20 or Amos 3:7 which shares that God has used prophets and apostles in ALL times. With that knowledge I found other verses like Hebrews 13:8 stating that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever. Just as God has had prophets anciently, why would he not have those same things today? As I have questioned if the prophet is a true prophet of God, I have been answered with the sweetest feelings that yes, God HAS chosen a prophet on the Earth for the whole world! There is still revelation between man and God for the salvation of His Children. Show more Show less
