Hi I'm Charlie

I am from Tucson, Arizona. I enjoy sports and I love the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from Tucson Arizona, and I am currently serving in the Japan Kobe Mission. I love golf, volleyball, and playing the piano. I also enjoy photography, working with computers, and building projects with my friends. I also love traveling and seeing cool places. I've been able to visit Japan, Italy, France, and got to live in the UK for a short time. Getting to know other cultures is a wonderful learning experience. My friends and I want to travel all over the world together in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

I love our Savior, Jesus Christ, and his gospel very much. I know that he loves all of us. I know that He lives. As I have made my efforts to follow his path, I have realized something very great - that following him brings true happiness. As I have pondered about my religion and what it means to me, I've looked to see the beautiful things in life and the every day miracles we often take for granted that point to Him and his love. Life, this world, and all of creation are living proof of a living God and his infinite knowledge. Whenever I choose follow the example of Jesus Christ, I can feel his spirit and his peace in my soul, and I feel happy. Truly happy and surrounded in God's love. I feel that love every time I go to church, and every time I read the Book of Mormon, and I know that peace is an assurance that those things are true, and from God, and that he wants not only me, but all of His Children to have them so they can be blessed.

How I live my faith

I am so grateful to serve the Lord's children in Japan. I am very excited to return there, to learn the language better, and to teach people that share a part of my ethnicity. Being a missionary is all about losing yourself in service and love for others, just as Jesus Christ did. There's nothing that could make me happier.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

"And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." (Mosiah 2:17) We are a church of service. I find comfort in knowing that the people who are called to be church leaders are not helping me just because they are paid to do so - they help because they truly care. Why else would they put so much time into the service of others? Show more Show less
