Hi I'm Erika

I was born and raised in Utah. I'm gonna be a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah and have been a member of the church my whole life, and I have been so blessed by it! I have a great family with my parents and two little sisters. I love sports like volleyball and basketball, as well as all kinds of outdoor activities. Currently, I coach volleyball at my former high school and I love it so much because I am sharing my gifts and talents in order to help others improve as well. Soon I will be serving a full time mission in Mexico and I cannot wait!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found so much joy through living this gospel. It has provided me with so much light in my life, and it times of turmoil and strife, it has brought me peace. At one point in my life I found myself struggling to stay on the path that the Savior had laid for me. I felt alone and dark inside and didn't know whether I would ever see the true light again. But through the atonement of Jesus Christ, the power of the priesthood, and by my Heavenly Father unconditional love, I was able to find my way again. Without this gospel, I don't know where or who I would be. I know God hears and answers my prayers, and that he knows and loves me personally. I believe with all my heart that I will be able to live with Him again someday, and that I will be with my family forever. That is why I love this gospel so much. I know that Joseph Smith was indeed a true prophet, and that the Book of Mormon is true. The feeling I get when I read it is indescribable. I hope I can be an example to others who want to know the truth. This church is true. I am a Mormon. I know it, I live it, and I love it.

How I live my faith

I was just released as the President of my Young Women class, and was then called to teach an 8-year-old Primary class. The kids have taught me so much about enjoying the simple things in life and loving the Savior. Making the choice to serve a mission was the best decision for me because it allows me to share the wonderful blessings of the gospel I have enjoyed all my life with others. I hope to be able to bear a strong testimony of the things I believe in: that God loves us, that Christ gave his life for us, and that we will one day be able to live with our Heavenly Father again.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Erika
Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today. I believe that he was called by God and is continually inspired by God. He, as well as his counselors and fellow apostles, give us modern revelation on how to better live our lives. God calls on and speaks to His prophets today just as He did in ancient times. Why is family so important to Mormons?

Erika
We believe that families can live together forever. Even though we cannot choose the conditions of our birth, we should always strive to make our families stronger and happier. The family is central to God's eternal plan for His children, and we believe in creating a family environment where family members can learn and feel love from each other. Show more Show less
