Hi I'm McKenzie

I love to read, play sports, and spend time with those I love. I have a deep passion for travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 4 kids. My two younger brothers and younger sister mean the world to me and I would do anything for them. My parents are the greatest teachers and examples I have ever met. I am taking a break from my college education to serve a mission in Georgia. I wish I could be perpetual student. I love anatomy, math, history, and more. I am always asking questions and love to learn new things. I particularly love to read the scriptures. I believe that reading God's word increases both my spiritual and temporal knowledge and brings me closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. I love to be active and play sports, particularly basketball and soccer. I love to read, sing, and play the piano. I love being with my family, whether we are watching a movie, playing games, going on a road trip, or just hanging around the house. I want to visit every state and travel the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or the Mormon church, because I know that it is Christ's true church on the earth today. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and I want to be more like Him every day. I know that this is the true church because I have received many personal witnesses of its truth and I have an unshakeable testimony of Joseph Smith as the prophet who restored Christ's church to the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because I have read it and experienced how it brings me closer to Christ. I grow to know my Savior and Redeemer better as I study the scriptures, particularly the Book of Mormon. I learn how I can be more like Him. I learn how I can return to live with my Heavenly Father again, which is my ultimate goal. The gospel of Jesus Christ brings so much joy, hope, and peace into my life. It makes me happy. Because of this church, I know where I came from, who I am, and where I'm going.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always trying to act as Christ would. I try to serve others as often as possible and I find that this increases my love for those around me. I currently am serving as a ward missionary, which is great since I am about to leave on a full time mission. To me, being a missionary means that I have the formal responsibility to share where my joy, peace, and hope comes from. I enjoy being an example of high moral standards and always striving to be better. We are commanded by Jesus Christ Himself to be perfect, even as He is. I live my faith by working every day to be more like my Savior than I was the day before.
