Hi I'm Jallyn

I'm an Oregonian. I'm a Thespian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am serving a mission in the Moscow, Russia mission. I love to sing, dance, and perform on stage. I have taught English in Russia before. I attended Brigham Young University - Idaho for two years. I am the oldest of 5 and I'm left handed.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, when I was a teenager and participating in youth activities I was encouraged by my leaders to read the Book of Mormon and find out for myself if the Church was true. I had grown up relying on the testimony of my parents, as I grew older I knew I couldn't piggyback off their faith forever. So I decided to accept the challenge of reading the Book of Mormon. It took me a while to get used to the language contained inside but the more I read and prayed about what I was reading the easier it became. I was able to read more at a time and understand it. The stories and lessons came to life and had deeper personal meaning to me. When I finished reading I prayed and asked if it was true. I did not receive an answer that I recognized right away. Instead, my answer came gradually everyday as I tried to live my life the way I was taught in upholding my standards and being a righteous example to my friends at school. Everyday my testimony was strengthened and as I read the Book of Mormon again and again the answer became solidified in my mind. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true Church on the face of the earth today. I know that the young boy Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ after his humble supplication to know which church to join. I know that though Joseph Smith was an uneducated man, through the divine help of Heavenly Father he was able to translate the ancient record on the gold plates and bring forth the Book of Mormon. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me, personally, dearly and completely. I know that His Son is my elder brother, Savior and Redeemer. Christ lived, died for my sins and afflictions, was buried and then rose again, overcoming death and giving me the knowledge and hope of living again also. I know that my family can be together forever. I know all these things because I have studied and prayed to know for myself.

How I live my faith

I love attending my church meetings. I like to spend time with the children because their spirits are so sweet and pure. I enjoy the hymns that bring the spirit. I love to take the sacrament and ponder on my relationship with Jesus Christ as well as renew the Covenants I made with Him at baptism.
