Hi I'm Lindsey

I grew up in a small Texas town, and come from a big family. I'm a military wife, and a busy mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom to three crazy hoodlums that I love to pieces. My husband is in the military and we're constantly faced with the hardships of this life, but also the excitement of it. I love to have fun and be crazy with my kids. I like to play sports but right now I'm enjoying watching my kids play them. We like to bake things together, and play outside when we can, and we love to travel and explore new places.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the church, so I never knew differently. That doesn't mean I didn't gain a testimony of my own. It helped that I have strong and faithful parents, but as a teen I needed to find out for myself the truthfulness of the gospel. My testimony was first established when I got the confirmation that Joseph Smith is a true prophet. Everything he did and everything he was, is true. SO naturally when I got that confirmation the confirmation that everything else in the gospel is true as well. If Joseph Smith is a true prophet and saw God and Jesus Christ, then the Book of Mormon is true because he was divinely inspired and helped during the translation process. If the Book of Mormon is true, then the church is true and so many more truths follow...like a domino effect. It's not always easy to live the gospel, especially in the military and far away from family, but the only way to strengthen our testimony of the gospel as a family and as individuals is by facing life's hardships and knowing that with the Lord's help and the wonderful people of this gospel, we can grown and learn and become more like our Savior Jesus Christ. The plan of happiness, apostles and a prophet here on the earth today just like when Christ himself was on the earth, families forever instead of just "death to us part"....it all just makes sense. That is why I'm a member of this gospel and a part of this church.

How I live my faith

I just moved (as fellow military can relate) so we aren't participating as often as normal in the ward we're in simply because we're new and it's good to get to know us a little before diving in and getting into a calling. I am a visiting teacher though which is something we all get to be as long as we accept it. I visit some of the ladies in our area that are members of the church. I get to take meals to them if they need it and we help each other out with babysitting needs too. We even do a date night swap with three other families so that my husband and I can actually go on dates one night a week so that we can have some time to focus on us and our marriage. I have been a teacher in the past to both children and the adults. I LOVE teaching, especially when I'm teaching the truths of the gospel.
