How I live my faith

The gospel Of Jesus Christ helps me to be a better person. I live my faith Through prayer and studying the Book of Mormon. God Loves us so much and want us to be happy. Being a member and a missionary is tough but I know this is the way that God wants me to be. This is he truth.Being LDS is a huge part of my life. My religion affects everything I do, from what I wear and how I spend my Monday nights, to what lessons I take away from my classes at school. My mission is the best. As a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints My purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith and Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentance, BAPTISM, receiving the gift of the holy ghost and enduring to the end.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Lance Seth Rubio
As used in the scriptures, to atone is to suffer the penalty for sins, thereby removing the effects of sin from the repentant sinner and allowing him or her to be reconciled to God. Jesus Christ was the only one capable of carrying out the Atonement for all mankind. Because of His Atonement, all people will be resurrected, and those who obey His gospel will receive the gift of eternal life with God.We understand that the Atonement of Jesus Christ gives us the opportunity to overcome the spiritual death that results from sin and, through making and keeping sacred covenants, to have the blessings of eternal life.We have hope through the Atonement of Christ to be raised unto life eternal. What is the First Vision?

Lance Seth Rubio
As a boy, Joseph Smith was surrounded by various churches which, though they disagreed with one another, each claimed to teach the truth. This caused him much serious reflection. He wanted to know which church was right. One day he read a passage in the Bible which says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5). Joseph decided to accept the invitation to ask God. In the spring of 1820, Joseph went to a grove of trees near his home and prayed to learn which church he should join. In answer to his prayer, Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him. Joseph wrote: “When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!” Joseph was told to join none of the churches that existed at that time as the priesthood authority and Church as Jesus Christ had organized it when He was on the earth had been lost over the centuries. Joseph Smith’s First Vision marked the beginning of the Restoration of Jesus Christ’s Church to the earth. Joseph’s written account of this event is a powerful testimony of what he saw and experienced. (Joseph Smith’s History chapter 1 verses 8-17.) Show more Show less
