Hi I'm Holly Kennedy

I was born in Utah, I live in Texas. I love to sing and am artistic. However, what matters most, is that I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the middle child of three. My family plays a huge role in my life and they are my best friends, not sure what I'd do without them. A good day is one spent with them. I am a college student. I've spent my first two semesters studying Interior Design at LDSBC. However, for now, that all is put on a hold. I am currently serving a mission for 18 months in the beautiful Everrett Washington Mission. Besides that I love to sing, I'm a soprano. It's a wonderful feeling to hit the high notes. I also like to create beauty. From drawing to decorating, wood burning to trying to make a food dish look pretty or to learn a new hair-do, it makes me smile!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My parents, grandparents, great grandparents and even farther back have been members. While their influence in my life is big, I recognized that I needed to learn for myself if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's church. I can tell you, that I know without a single doubt, that this is his gospel. I knelt down and prayed, asking God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, if all the things I've learned throughout my childhood were true. You too can ask in faith and I promise you, an answer will come just as it did for me. Yes, it is true. I know that God lives and that he loves us dearly, for we are his children. He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to show us the way to return to our Father above. And then he suffered and died for us, so that our wrongs can be forgiven. He did it for you, for me and yes, even for the annoying kid back in 8th grade who threw spit balls at you. We needed him. We still need him and he is there. He lives! Our Father hasn't forgotten about us. He sent prophets long ago to help the people live the Lord's way and to come unto him. Like wise, God has sent us a prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, to lead us and guide us in these days. I know these things to be true and will forever stand as a witness, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

While I was doing my first year of college, I kept feeling that something was wrong. Like there was something else I needed to be doing. I prayed about it and got an answer that I needed to serve a mission. My first semester was when the missionary age changed for women from 21 to 19, so I wasn't too surprised since my 19th birthday was coming up. I know that this is the Lord's church. That knowledge, it brings peace and joy into my life. I want to share that with others. I have enjoyed the tender moments of seeing others gain a testimony of Jesus Christ. I want them to understand the love that our Savior has for us. That we all are children of God!
