Hi I'm Sam Wyatt

I grew up in Mississippi, but now I'm studying Geographic Information Systems in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student, engaged to the most wonderful person, and I am happy to be Mormon. I love some pretty nerdy things like video games and comic books (Dark Souls and Mike Mignola are the best!), but I also love being outdoors, playing volleyball and swimming. Right now I'm studying Geography focusing on remote sensing and GIS. If you aren't sure what that is, it's mostly working with data and maps to solve problems. Before becoming a full time student, I served as a missionary in Uganda and Ethiopia for about a year each. This was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I learned so much about the Lord, His gospel and myself. You might not know me personally, but God knows you. And He loves you.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I have prayed about it, and I have had strong feelings that it is the truth. I can't convince anyone else this is the truth, but I would encourage everyone to study, ponder and pray about the doctrines shared by the LDS missionaries.

How I live my faith

I love reading from the Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible. I love hearing sermons and talks at church. Mostly I love being with others, and being strengthened by their faith.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Sam Wyatt
Christ's atonement is the single greatest act of love in all of history. Not only did Christ take on himself the punishment for every sin of every person, but he also felt and endured every sickness, ailment, and weakness we have ever experienced. He did this to gain a perfect understanding of each of us, so we can always have a comforter who knows exactly what our hardships are like. Christ also broke the bands of death through the atonement and subsequent resurrection. Because of His atonement, we have a personal savior who can comfort us perfectly, take away the punishment for our sins if we are humble and repent, and give us a life after death with our families and loved ones. To me there is no greater gift or blessing. I have profound love for my Savior and my Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
