Hi I'm Don

I'm a Mormon and I'm in the Navy Reserves with the Sea Bees (Construction Battalion).

About Me

I'm a father of 3 kids who have a lot more talent than their "old Man" and share it through a community theater group. My hobbies include the shooting sports, knife making and collecting, playing video games with the kids, and Ham Radio. I'm also in the Navy Reserves and have been to Iraq and Afghanistan, which has helped me to appreciate everything that I have in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I'm a Mormon is because of The Book of Mormon. While reading it for the first time I would think sometimes this is a good story. Then I would think about the challenge at the end from the Prophet Moroni, "..if ye ask with a sincere heart...". So I would do that as I read and the Holy Ghost let me know that what I was reading was true and not a story told to start a religion.

How I live my faith

While in Afghanistan I was the religious lay leader for my camp. This involved making sure the weekly services were performed for the other LDS members to attend. Plus if anyone was to ask the camps Chaplain about our religion he would refer them to me. At first this seemed like it would be overwhelming, then I realized that this was not much more than I already do at home.
