Hi I'm Alexis Rawe

I am currently a sophomore at BYU-Provo in the nursing program. However, I will be in Mexico through July 2015 serving a mission.

About Me

I grew up for the most part in Dallas/Fort Worth in Texas. I'm currently a student, but I have been called to serve a mission in Mexico Guadalajara East. I report on January 8th and will serve for a period of 18 months. I love families and children. I find the human body fascinating and am so grateful for this gift from the Lord. I look forward to my opportunity to study our bodies and learn to how to care for them throughout our lives. I love to learn! I am kind of a nerd that way. Anything Disney also rocks my world. I am grateful for families. I love my family and they just happen to be my best friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the Lord. Because I truly love Him, I want to align my will with His, and this allows me to feel of His love more fully. This love is what keeps me going every day. It is my Savior's love that helps me to see others the way that He sees them. His love gives me patience with my own weaknesses and the weaknesses of others. This love has helped me to understand the Atonement and that my sins can truly be washed away as I am made clean and pure once again. I know that my Savior understands every trial, heartache, fear, and doubt that I have ever had and ever will have. This love encourages me to find opportunities to serve and to step outside of myself. This love pushes me to study from the scriptures every day. I know that our scriptures are filled with inspired words. The prophets that wrote in them saw our day and were prompted to record their testimonies and experiences that would be for my own good. I know that the prophet Joseph Smith truly saw the Father and the Son and that the Book of Mormon the most true book. This prophet would not have endured all the he endured, eventually giving His life, for something he created himself. He understood the greater purpose. I am a Mormon because no matter how scared or doubtful I feel, this gospel always brings me peace. I find a quiet strength through seeking out my Savior, and I know that everyone through humility, is entitled to this strength.

How I live my faith

I try every day to emulate the example of my Savior. It is most important to me to help every person that I encounter to feel our Savior's love. I pray for an understanding of those around me that I may help them the way the Savior does. I strive to develop an empathetic character and pray each day for Christlike love. I want to be a friend to every I meet. I am an outgoing person and I like to make conversation with new people that I meet every day. I try to remove my doubts and fears by increasing faith. I tutor at a local high school in the subject of biology. I love to teach and share the things that I know with others who may be struggling. I have served in teaching callings at church. I have taught both new members and investigators of our church our essential core gospel principles. I have developed a deep love of the scriptures. I treasure words from our prophets and strive to study and ponder on them every day. I love the temple, and weekly attendance is a goal of mine.
