Hi I'm Nicki

I am a convert to the church of 11 years. My family is everything to me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Besides church and my family, interior design/event planning are my passions. I fulfilled my dream of studying temple design under the church's temple designers! I loved every minute and was even blessed to work in the church floral/events department for a short time!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17 years old, I became close friends with two girls at my high school named Stacy and Jamie. Stacy and her family were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I always felt a very special spirit in their home but I did not really understand why. I would spend countless afternoons hanging out at her house (usually stressing out with the girls mentioned above about boys and clothes.), as well as eating dinner with them and watching BYU games on Thursday nights. During our freshman year of college, Jamie began taking the missionary discussions about the Mormon church with Stacy and her family. I would listen to Stacy and Jamie talk about what Jamie was learning and I even went to an LDS singles dance with them. Jamie was baptized and joined their church that year. When I was 22 years old, I remembered the things that the Shinnicks had taught me as well as my conversations with Jamie and Stacy. I called the Shinnicks, and two weeks later I was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That decision forever altered my course! This past April, Stacy's parents visited our little branch in Dayton. I was so happy and surprised to see them! As Brother Shinnick spoke, I teared up thinking of the priceless gift that they and their family gave both Jamie and I over a decade ago. The gift they gave both Jamie and I was the gift of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have worked and served with the youth, the children, and the young single adults in our church. My favorite calling in my church though is visiting teaching, where we visit and teach different women in the church. I have gained several close friendships with women I never would have met otherwise!
