Hi I'm Katherine Burchett

I've grown up in Utah and Prince Edward Island, Canada. I love to laugh and I LOVE life. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I'm Katherine! I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since I was baptized at the age of eight. I'm in a family of six who are all active in the church. I am very lucky to have been raised in this wonderful Gospel! I don't know where I would be without it. I was fortunate to live in Prince Edward Island, Canada, for about 6 years during different times of my life; where I learned many life lessons. I learned to love and understand others regardless of their religion. I was blessed to meet amazing friends who changed my life. I was one of the only members of the church in my school there so I got to teach my friends about what being a Mormon meant to me. I now live in Utah and continue to choose to live my faith everyday. I am the oldest child in my family and my three younger siblings and I have a lot of fun together. My family is very close and we do so many great things together. I am currently in my third year of college and I've been blessed with wonderful experiences throughout the years. I love the outdoors, photography, dancing, singing, learning, eating good food, spending time with friends and family, and I love meeting new people everyday! Life is GOOD.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know it is the true church. I have prayed and studied The Book of Mormon. I feel happy and comforted when I am doing what is right and I know that God is aware of me and loves me. I want to keep my promises and be a representative of Jesus Christ. I have a bright hope for my future and this is because of the Plan of Salvation. I know that if I am living right and continually keeping God's commandments I will be happy. I want to be with my family forever and I know this is possible through temple ordinances and the atonement of Jesus Christ. Lastly, this Gospel gives me hope through the darkest of times. With faith and the love God has for me, I have overcome hard trials. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ is a gift given to all of us so that we can repent and come unto him with a humble heart. Through Christ we are healed. I am so grateful for life and its beauty, and I LOVE being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Each day I try my best to pray often to my Heavenly Father and read my scriptures. Staying close to God gives me strength and guidance to help me through each day. I participate in family home evenings with many single adults in my community. I attend singles ward on Sundays and I love meeting people who share the same values as me. I attend Institute, which gives me opportunities to learn more about the Gospel and the scriptures. Most importantly, I try to live in a way so I can be a influence for good. I strive to be Christ-like and help others come unto him. I love serving others and helping them feel God's love. I am a very happy person and I know it is because I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love sharing my happiness with others and hope they can be happy too.
