Hi I'm Cassandra Childs

I am an avid runner, a chocolate milk connoisseur, and the oldest sister to five siblings. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Cassandra, and I embody the meaning of my name. Cassandra, in Greek, has two meanings: “helper of men” and she who “shineth upon men”. My name, to me, is also a description of my personality. I am driven. I am committed to setting goals and accomplishing them. Amongst my healthy diet, I have a secret obsession with chocolate milk and red gummy bears. I have a full mane of curly hair that accompanies my big heart, big smile, and big laugh. I have a passion for learning and for using the knowledge I have to benefit others. I am an avid runner. One of my mottos is, “Be in love with your life. Every minute of it” (Jack Kerouac) and I have loved every minute of my 19 years. I am confident, I am ambitious, I am compassionate. I am beautiful, strong, and gentle. I am Cassandra.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for numerous reasons, but one of the biggest is because I have found nothing else that brings me the kind of happiness that is found in this church. This gospel brings incandescent joy. I was born and raised in the gospel, but that doesn't mean that my testimony was handed to me. In order to have my own assurance that this was the true church I put a lot of work into gaining a testimony. Through test and trial I began to notice that there was a direct correlation between how happy I was and how much of myself I gave to the Lord. The more fervently I prayed and read my scriptures, the more joy I experienced and vice versa. I'm a Mormon because through the gospel of Jesus Christ, I can gain a fullness of joy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. What better way to represent the Savior than by emulating His works? The Savior, Jesus Christ, was always caught performing service. I serve through regular temple attendance, volunteering with the special needs individuals, giving my Saturday mornings to build houses for low income families, and serving my family.
