Hi I'm Lisa Pennington

I grew up and live in the South. I manage and coach at an all-star cheer gym. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for 20 years. I have 3 children - 2 boys and a girl. I enjoy creating memories by taking pictures. My most favorite thing is spending time with my family and going on road trips. I love to make people laugh and make others happy. I enjoy spending time with friends. I'm outgoing and spunky. I love sports and played softball and cheered in high school. I love watching my kids play sports. I have coached cheerleading for over 10 years. I enjoy the opportunity to work with young people and mentoring them.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, I attended various churches and participated in church choirs. My parents are Seventh Day Adventists and so I grew up with a good foundation centered on christian beliefs. I was first introduced to the Mormon faith my junior year in high school by some friends. I started attending activities and church and even participated in choir. It wasn't until I attended a youth conference during the summer after graduating high school that I obtained a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Through much prayer and meeting with the missionaries, I received a confirmation from my Heavenly Father that this was His church. I was baptized on November 5, 1989, and it changed my life forever. After joining the church, I immediately began serving and the first calling I was given gave me the opportunity to work closely with the full time missionaries and share my testimony. In doing so, it increased my love for the Savior and strengthened my testimony of His gospel. Soon after my baptism, I made a decision to leave Memphis and go to college in Utah to be around more members of the Mormon faith. It was there that I met my husband, and shortly thereafter, we were married in the Los Angeles Temple. I have been blessed with three children, and I can honestly say that my life is complete. I'm so grateful for having friends that were great examples to me in high school and who loved me enough to share with me the beliefs that made them happy.

How I live my faith

I enjoy going to church each Sunday and being able to teach the youth in Sunday School. Each morning our family comes together for scripture study and family prayer. I love the feeling it gives us to start our day on a spiritual note. We also set aside one night a week for family home evening which is an opportunity for our family to discuss and learn about a spiritual topic and grow closer together.
