Hi I'm Eddie Edwards

I'm Eddie, Husband, Father and Grandfather - happy to be alive. Every day is a blessing - I am a Mormon.

About Me

I spent most of my working life as a jeweller, but I've turned my hands to many things. I play golf, enjoy photography, and sing and play guitar - mostly for my pleasure and other peoples pain. I have a small digital recording studio that keeps me amused for hours. I have a great family, with five tremendous children who are all grown up and making their own way in life and in the church. They are a tremendous source of pride and encouragement to me. Four of my children served full-time missions for the church, in places as diverse as Canada, America, Switzerland/France and Ireland. With four grandchildren, and another two on the way, my life is often hectic but never boring. I try to stay fit and have managed that so far, although the legs are slowing down now! Living the Word of Wisdom has been a real blessing in my life

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church after a few years of investigation. I began by being friends with existing members, and although I was impressed by the ethics and standards that they aspired to, I constantly tried to repudiate their beliefs and teachings. The more I learnt, the more I endeavoured to disprove. However, the more I tried to disprove, the more logical and righteous the teachings became. Whatever question I raised, there was a gospel response that made perfect sense. I realised that the church taught pretty much what I had always believed but never really voiced or considered. I finally took the challenge and prayed for an earnest answer to my prayer of -- ' is this the true church of Jesus Christ?' The answer that came to me in such strength that I could not deny it was 'Yes - it is'. I have never doubted it - nor wanted not to live the gospel since that time. It isn't always an easy thing to do - but the peace it brings when you are striving to live righteously before God is so worth it!!

How I live my faith

Released from all callings in order to move to Canada, I was really looking forward to immersing myself in my new Branch. The church is quite small here - but the members are truly wonderful. I am so excited to be here - and there are so many great opportunities for growth and development - I so want to be useful in the kingdom. I have recently been called as the Second Counsellor to the Branch President, which keeps me busy. I also have the opportunity to help out with our great missionaries in this area, by teaching with them and helping to find those seeking the truth.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Eddie Edwards
A testimony is the sure knowledge that what you believe in is the truth. You can gain a testimony of many things - but we as Members of the Mormon faith normally refer to our testimony of the truthfulness of our religion and its teachings. Testimonies can be nurtured and grown in many ways - through prayerful study of the scriptures, faithful application of principles and doctrines, and through serving others. As Mormon's we have a profound belief that Jesus Christ is our Personal Saviour, and that he took upon himself all of our sins in order to provide a way that we could return to live with him once more. I have a testimony of our Savior, of his Divinie Mission, and of his love for me and each of us. Show more Show less
