Hi I'm Shane Fredrickson

I was born and raised in Utah but did not become an active member of the Mormon faith until I was 24 years old.

About Me

I am married and the father of 4 children. I have spent the last two decades working as a cop. I use what little spare time I have in shooting, camping or working on physical fitness.

Why I am a Mormon

I owe a debt of gratitude to many of my ancestors who gave up everything they had to cross oceans and continents to be part of the Church of Jesus Christ. I was blessed to be born into the church but unfortunately failed to appreciate its significance as a young man. The ways of the natural man were strong in me and I did not keep the commandments as I had been taught nor was I willing to serve the Lord to any degree. I became converted at age 24. After seeing and experiencing all the darkness and misery the world had to offer I began to recognize the light of Christ that I had experienced as a child. I thank God for inspiring servants in His priesthood to leave the ninety nine and go in search of the one.

How I live my faith

I serve the Lord in a ward-level priesthood leadership calling. Jesus Christ spent the years of His earthly ministry serving mankind and teaching his disciples to do likewise. His church today is no different and being ordained to the priesthood is a call to serve mankind without earthly compensation or reward. When egotism and selfishness are replaced by the pure motives that are the natural product of faith in Jesus Christ, we start to become better people.
