Hi I'm Kristina

I am living with Type 1 Diabetes. I'm about to be a mother and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 23 years old and I just graduated college with a degree in Theatre Education. I have been married for two years and my husband and I are expecting our first baby in January. When I was six months old I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. My parents got a divorce when I was nine and my mother is a single mom to five children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, although my mother was baptized only two years before she had me. After my parents' divorce I saw my father fall away from the Gospel and the struggles he endured. When I was a teenager my mother taught me that sometimes it is easier to learn from the mistakes of others than to make the same mistakes myself. I listened to friends talk about the lack of support that came when they distanced themselves from the church and could not see how a life without the Lord could be led. I began looking for the Lord's support in my own life and found it in abundance. My love for a Savior that would take notice and comfort the small worries and fears of a young girl runs deep. My Savior has always been there for me in my times of trial and of happiness. I know that the church is true because of the absolute peace that I have felt as I explore the scriptures and inspect my own life for the hand of my God. This church is true.

How I live my faith

My husband and I are currently working on cultivating the habits we want our daughter to have. We pray together often. We have worked in the temple on multiple occasions, and have taught young children the Gospel. I am currently working with my stake on a theatrical production focused on the life of Joseph Smith.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

When I married my husband we were sealed in the temple by those who hold the priesthood. Our future children were sealed to us at the same time. I am extremely grateful for the truth that I will be with my husband for all eternity. As he will be my companion in this life so will he be in the life beyond. Show more Show less
