Hi I'm Michelle

I'm a teacher. I'm a world traveler. I love meeting new people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just a girl in my early 30's, working, traveling, and living life. I love to travel and see the world. I've been to Scotland, Ireland, England, Mexico, Canada, Peru, and all over the United States. I love to see the beautiful creations that our Father in Heaven has given to us to enjoy. When I'm home, I'm teaching elementary school, dating my boyfriend, and quilting and doing crafts. I love to sew and make pieced quilts for those I love and to give away. I also have interests in photography and have photographed a few families and babies. I have recently been taking up swimming, writing, and laundry (let's admit--there's always laundry!).

Why I am a Mormon

I've been raised Mormon my entire life, but until more recently, I've come to fully realize and know that I have a loving Father in Heaven who wants me to succeed and knows the desires of my heart. I've been far and near, but I feel so close to Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father when I take the time to read from the scriptures or listen to talks from prophets. Without the gospel in my life, it would feel empty, and I would feel lost. I've found myself surrounded by those I love, and looking out into the world feeling that it is so huge. How could I, one small person, make a difference or matter? It's looking at this same wide expanse of space where I realized that the gospel is true. Heavenly Father is real and this world was created by His means. He loves us, and he wants us to be happy. We are here for a greater purpose--to learn, to grow, and to serve others--to develop Christlike qualities in ourselves and return again. I'm so grateful that I have this knowledge of something more. I know that this life is just a small part of the greatness that we have within us, and that we can continue on after death to live with our loved ones in the eternities.

How I live my faith

I've always had a deep place in my heart for serving others. During college, I took many trips to various parts of the world to serve others. I've built houses, worked in food banks, volunteered feeding the homeless, held and played with orphans who would otherwise lay in cribs all day. I've found that the best way to serve people is to serve those around me in small and simple ways everyday. This is how I show the love of Jesus Christ towards others in my life.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Michelle
I used to think that my faith would increase from attending church and listening to the words from the meetings, my leaders, and the prophets. I now realize that my faith increases the most when I search the scriptures for answers to life's questions and problems, take the time to pray and listen to the small promptings from the Holy Ghost. Sometimes I'm overwhelmed at what seems all the things I should be doing. However, I realize that I must do the best I can to increase my own personal testimony and faith, and little by little, it grows. If I have the desire to be good, do good, and act in accordance with what I know, I can increase my faith. Show more Show less
