Hi I'm Lyz

I'm an anthropology student, a mother, a wife, a friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up around Washington, D.C. Now I'm an anthropology student at Brigham Young University, with four young children and the most supportive husband in the world. I love learning about people, and I really want to travel. I'm especially learning about Chinese culture. I've studied Mandarin, Chinese philosophy, and Chinese cultural traditions, and I hope to travel there soon.

Why I am a Mormon

When I came out of the waters of baptism I felt so clean! When I was confirmed a member of the Church, I powerfully felt the witness of the Holy Ghost in my heart. My experiences with prayer have convinced me that there is a loving Father in Heaven who knows and is keenly aware of me. The moments I have been the most sure of this fact have all come in relation to my membership and activity in this Church. I know it is true because of the peace, guidance, reassurance, and joy it brings into my life. Following the teachings of the gospel and the counsel of our leaders has brought me safety, comfort, greater faith, and confidence in my choices and in God's love for me.

How I live my faith

I love to talk about and teach the gospel. I enjoy making comments in my Sunday classes and discussing religious topics with friends and family. Especially important to me is the time I spend in the temple and on my knees in prayer. Whenever I have questions or am under a lot of stress, I find prayer and temple attendance both bring me peace and understanding to help me get through the rough times in my life.
