Hi I'm Katherine

I'm a small town girl with big dreams. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in rural Utah with 3 brothers, 1 sister, and wonderful parents. I am at my happiest when I am with family, and I'm in my element when I'm painting, reading, or riding horses. In school I found great pleasure studying History, so I decided to make it part of my future career by majoring in History Teaching at Utah State University.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love who I am becoming because of the Church's teachings. Everything within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is focused around our Savior, Jesus Christ, and his atonement. When I was 19, my father passed away unexpectedly. I was hurt, confused, and very very angry. It was at this darkest and most difficult time that I began to finally understand what the Savior's atonement meant. Not only did He suffer our sins and transgressions, but also our sorrows and pains as well. Only He knows us completely and only He can give true comfort. There is so much more to the Gospel that I love to live, but understanding Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's love for me and all of his children is my favorite part. It is because of their love that families can be together forever, and we can return to Them and reach our full potential someday.

How I live my faith

In my church community I have served in the Young Women's organization, Relief Society, and as Ward Chorister. In these callings I have organized youth activities, shared lessons about the teachings of Jesus Christ, visited and prepared meals for the sick, and volunteered to lead hymns in weekly church meetings. Currently, I am preparing to serve a mission in Billings, Montana and will be entering the MTC on October 16, 2013.
